Cellular Jail (Kala Pani)
Cellular Jail, popularly known as “Kala Pani”, is not just a prison but a symbol of India’s freedom struggle. This historic prison was built to isolate and torture freedom fighters during the British rule. Completed in 1906, it had 7 wings, each with numerous single cells, where prisoners lived completely alone. Cellular Jail is a place where you can feel the sacrifices made for India’s freedom.
